The 2021 Tokyo Games have seen the participation of the highest percentage of women in history: 47.8% for the Olympic Games and 42,1% for Paralympic Games.

While it is still unknown how many of the 4,400 2024 Paris Paralympics participants will be women, it has already been established that the 2024 Paris Olympics will reach full gender parity: the same number of woman and male athletes (5,250) will take part to the Games.

Despite these achievements, there is still a huge gender gap in sports in terms of pay, visibility and training conditions.
